Kemali Residents Welcomed Habema Marines’ Social Communication

 

KENYAM NDUGA | Suarana.com – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 17 November 2024, the 503 Task Forces, especially the Batas Batu Post led by Captain Galih Widiharyo, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of the Kemali Village, Kenyam District, while performing the areal security patrol. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.

In his emphasis on the Soldiers, the Commander of 503 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces' attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Therefore, on Sunday, the Soldiers took advantage of their task by interacting and communicating with some Kemali children. The interaction occurred when the Patrol Team passed by the area of Kemali Village.

While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the children. In this communication, the parents of the children conveyed the security situation updates in the Kemali Village, which is still relatively safe and conducive. The residents also felt happy with the concern of the Soldiers who stopped by the village and conducted games with the children. One of them, Yusuf Kogoya, described his impression by saying, "Thank you, Commander 503. God bless", a powerful testament to the strong bond between the community and the Task Forces. This heartwarming response from the residents underscores the impact of the Task Forces' efforts, as well as the unity and support in the assigned area. The feedback from the residents has an essential effect on military operations, demonstrating the community's influence on the Task Forces’ operations.

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 503 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with some residents in Kemali Village. His words: "The 503 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development.
